ABOUT… Hi, I’m Andrea Karanthon. I am a 26-year-old, Miami-based model and entrepreneur. I have had an exciting modeling career that has provided me many opportunities. I am very driven and have had numerous accomplishments. However, my career and journey is just getting started. The best is yet to come.
Happy to have you feature on Playboy! Can you give us a bit of a background on your career as a model and where it all started? I was born and raised in Colombia where culturally we value and worship the beauty of women. Even though I was raised in Colombia, I’m very fortunate to have the best of two worlds since my father is from the Czech Republic and my mother is from Colombia. Traveling and modeling are some of my passions. I started modeling at a young age in my native country as well as in different countries in Central and South America. I have modeled and have been featured in calendars, magazines, newspapers and music videos. I have also participated in beauty contests, marketing campaigns and runway shows in several countries
What are some of your best career highlights so far? I have had the opportunity to travel, experience different cultures and meet so many great people in different countries. This career has provided me the opportunity to live in the United States and to make a living doing what I love.
Social media is a very powerful tool, given your massive following, what are some of the challenges you face when it comes to marketing your brand and maintaining a solid following? Keeping up with social media is hard and not as easy as many people like to think. You have to create new content while staying relevant and professional at all times. Keeping up with the fans takes time but I enjoy interacting with them. After all, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. On my social media, I’m always focusing on posting positive messages and use my platform to help people reset their mind with good and positive energy. People tell me I am a mind-setter . . . “The value in being authentic is always being yourself.” . . . “Your essence is what’s most important. That is your power.”
Can you give us a breakdown of a typical day in the life of a glamourous model on set? The parts no one sees is the hard work that goes into reaching your goals. My morning starts off with meditation and kisses from my dog followed by the gym or doing pilates before accomplishing my commitments. My days are varied, but they are filled with professional appointments, beauty treatments, spa treatments or whatever the day requires. I squeeze in healthy meals. I ride my motorcycle with my dog under the Miami sunsets. In the evening, I may attend dinner events or spend a quiet night at home.
What are some of the biggest misconceptions people have about what you do? Some of the misconceptions about modeling is that as long as you have a pretty face it’s an easy party job. To be successful today, dedication, hard work and focus are required. It is a professional competitive career like all others. Beauty will only get you so far, intelligence is also needed. Networking, follow-through, good character and looking out for others are also keys aspects.
Now we know there are some pretty perks that come with being a beautiful woman, what would say are your favorite ones? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Being considered attractive has opened many doors for me and I am very grateful for that. Having a lot of attention has its challenges which results in developing people skills.
Given that you’re a stunning woman who undoubtedly gets a lot of attention, what are some of the nicest things men have done to try and get your attention? One memorable moment is having had my bed decorated with a heart made of rose petals as well as rose petals throughout the room. Another memorable moment was receiving a beautifully decorated aquarium. The most memorable one though is having an air advertisement dedicated to me with a romantic message. My name was misspelled so I almost didn’t realize the message was for me!
What makes you feel absolutely sexy? I feel sexy during a photoshoot, when I’m wearing sexy lingerie, designer perfume and high heels. Most importantly, I feel sexy in my own skin because nothing is sexier than confidence.
3 things that you can’t go a day without? I can’t live without love, passion and the drive to succeed.
Anything exciting we should be on the lookout for coming through this year from you? I have a lot of plans for this year. Coming up first, I have a photoshoot in Mexico. I’m very excited because I will be traveling to a new destination. It will be my first time in Mexico and it will coincide with my birthday celebration. In addition to the trip, I look forward to expanding and growing my boat rental company and hope to launch my own line of beauty products. I would also like to be featured in other magazine covers, appear in more music videos and work with other recognized photographers in the industry.
